Ze begonnen pas 2 jaar geleden en ze doen hetzelfde als Openai maar dan voor 1/10 van de centen.
Afgelopen maandag kwamen ze op Hugging Face met 2 nieuwe modellen voor image generation: Janus Pro 1B en 7B.
De eenvoudigere modellen zijn opensource, onder de MIT licentie. Dat is ook gunstiger dan die van Openai, want hun licentie lijkt beter dan die is.
Het punt met de Chinese alle modellen is natuurlijk niet het model zelf maar de data die gebruikt is voor ’training’. Klopt dat allemaal wel? En is die data wel wetmatig gebruikt? Weer die licenties. Deze issues staan aan de basis van de AI als industrie.
Linkedin traint stilletjes AI met de data maar dat staat niet in de licenties. In de UK zijn ze in september gestopt toen het alarm afging bij regulators.
